Jaydeep Sarkar is an ad filmmaker based in Mumbai, India.
When he is not busy telling stories with moving images, he loves to explore the world with his phone-camera or his DSLR. He finds himself drawn to moments, people, motifs and metaphors… but what he loves to capture is irony.
The more ironical the subject of a photograph, the more compelling it can be. Photography to him is the best way to make connections with strangers, places and history.
He visited Kochi after almost fifteen years and found it to be the way he had left it. While there has been great progress in terms of infrastructure, the people of Kochi are still deeply connected to their heritage. And this balance of progress in terms of modernisation and culture is something the rest of the country can learn from.
